VERSICOLOR / WHITE CUBE

Versicolor is an audio visual environment.
It refers to abstract works of the expanded cinema movement and is translated to contemporary technologies and it’s endless possibilities, by confusing the audience’s perception of physical facts through subtle digital manipulation.
Three projectors project single colors which generatively slowly change on a cube and the wall behind it. A white background, layered by color addition and surrounds a spectrum of colored shadows. Additionally, each shadow / cube surface is separately mapped, letting shadows partly disappear from time to time.

The sound layer is based on sine waves, processed with filters in dependence to the projected surfaces and becomes a rich drone sound, also depending on the viewers position. While playing and improvising live, physical shadows can be even more drastically deconstructed and new arrangements of color / shadow / mappings can be achieved.
